Terri Hard At Work

Here is Terri doing all the meticulous work in our studio

Traffic Jam?

Now that we have gotten such great reactions to our charm bracelets, How do I get traffic to my site? I'm still trying to figure this one out. You know,This is one of the reasons I'm so passionate about this business. I an excited to design the charms, and love seeing them from conception to an actual piece I can hold in my hands. But, it's so much more than that! Everyday we are learning something new, and that suits us fine. Terri is making some new charms for our website so I can finally take pics and complete it. She is doing a Beatles bracelet with pics of John, Paul,George, and Ringo,as well as some of the album covers, and let me tell you, it is beautiful! Terri graduated college for Graphic arts with highest honors and course distinction, and is so happy to be doing what she went to school for, it's nice to see her happy in what she does. And by the way, she is great at it! Me, I just have street smarts{Sesame Street that is, lol}, and stick to the marketing and ideas part of the business. All in all, we found a business that utilizes both of our strong points.

Eagles bracelets

Yikes! I spent all day putting together eagles nomination style bracelets, and I am a HUGE Giants fan! I mean, the Eagles as a team are ok, but the fans drive me crazy! It's all in good fun I guess, lol. Now, I am learning how to accept paypal on my site, how to number my inventory, how to get the word out about our product, and its starting to take its toll. 19 hours online yesterday, and I feel like nothing was accomplished. How do I get across to people the awesome possibilities of taking thier favorite pics, and making a gorgeous bracelet with them? I mean, the idea is amazing, yet the marketing is almost impossible. Just think, for an anniversary, you send me your wedding pics, pics of your kids, anything significant, and I resize, cut, an enamel them on a quality stainless steel bracelet! Your school can have green drives, where the students earn special links for helping the enviroment, Merit bracelets for girl scouts, or send your kids special drawings! Man, the list goes on and on......

First day

This is my first post in my new blog! My name is Nolan, and I have started this blog to chronicle my first home business, nolan smith charms. I have this gut feeling that this might take off, so, I thought this would be a nice way to one day look back, and also to help others who might want to create their own destiny with a home based business. An idea came to me one day, when my mother showed me a nomination-type bracelet with the Philadelphia Eagles[boo] logo on it. She said a friend of hers made it, and they were flying out the door. I don't know why, but it intrigued me, so I Googled it, and after what seemed like hours, figured out that I could make them cheaper, better, and most of all nicer than what I had seen! So, I used a blank credit card, and started ordering blank links, and got to work! The buzz was enough to make us[ my wife Terri] go on to the next level! A couple of 20 hour days on the computer, and gluing, pasting, and cold enameling, and our first bracelets looked gorgeous!
